CLANER joins the new Interregional Alliance of Energy Clusters of Spain

November 19, 2025.-

The clusters of Andalusia, Aragón, the Balearic Islands, Castilla y León, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia and Navarre will collaborate to boost regional cooperation, innovation and progress in the energy transition.

The nine regional clusters signing the agreement bring together more than 900 members, including companies, technology centres, universities, public administrations and professional associations.

This morning, the Interregional Alliance of Energy Clusters of Spain was established in Madrid, with the Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER) joining as a founding member.

The coalition is promoted by the energy sector clusters of Andalusia, Aragón, the Balearic Islands, Castilla y León, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia and Navarre, and was formally constituted during the Genera 2025 trade fair.

The alliance has been created with the aim of strengthening cooperation between territories, driving innovation, and advancing towards a fair, orderly and cohesive energy transition across the entire national territory. Together, the nine signatory clusters represent 917 companies, technology centres, universities, public administrations and professional associations from across the country linked to the energy sector.

CLANER’s president, Alfonso Vargas, stressed that “the launch of this alliance is key for the national energy sector because, for the first time, the most representative clusters from different autonomous communities are joining forces in the same direction to tackle the major challenges of the energy transition with strength and coordination. This collaboration will allow us to promote broader initiatives, enhance the competitiveness of Andalusian companies and those from other regions, and ensure that the transformation of the energy model reaches all territories in Spain effectively and equitably.”

Signatory entities

The alliance has been founded by the Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER), the Clúster de la Energía de Aragón (Clenar), the Clúster de Energías Renovables y Soluciones Energéticas de Castilla y León (CYLSOLAR), the Clúster de l’Energia Eficient de Catalunya (CEEC), the Clúster de Energía de la Comunitat Valenciana, the Clúster de la Energía de Extremadura, the Clúster de Energías Renovables de Galicia (Cluergal), the Clúster de Transició Ecològica de les Illes Balears (TEIB) and the Clúster de Energías Renovables de Navarra (Enercluster), although it remains open to the future incorporation of other regional energy clusters.

Objectives

The Interregional Alliance of Energy Clusters of Spain has been created to coordinate regional efforts aimed at advancing towards a fair, sustainable and technologically advanced energy transition, promoting the exchange of knowledge, experiences and capabilities that strengthen the position of companies and technology centres in the new energy markets. It will also promote the development of joint innovation and R&D projects at the national level and within European programmes linked to the twin green and digital transition, while acting as a unified voice of Spain’s innovative energy sector before national and international institutions.

In addition, the alliance will encourage public–private cooperation between territories, aligning its initiatives with energy and territorial cohesion policies, and contributing to balanced development across all regions so that the energy transition generates employment, value and well-being throughout the country.

Constitution

The official signing of the constitution of the Interregional Alliance of Energy Clusters of Spain took place this morning in Madrid during the Genera 2025 fair, where representatives of the nine organisations publicly ratified this stable cooperation framework. With its establishment, the alliance positions itself as a strategic instrument to drive innovation, strengthen the sector’s competitiveness and support the country’s progress towards a sustainable, resilient and fairly distributed energy model.
