CLANER is promoting the sector’s involvement in the Roadmap for Innovation in Floating Wind Energy under the European I3FLOAT project

14th April 2026

The Andalusian Renewable Energy Cluster (CLANER), as part of the European I3FLOAT project, invites organisations in the sector to play an active role in shaping the future Innovation Roadmap for Floating Wind Energy, a strategic initiative that will help strengthen Europe’s position in this field.

I3FLOAT is a European project bringing together 24 partners from 8 regions with the aim of strengthening the floating offshore wind value chain by promoting innovation, interregional cooperation and the active participation of SMEs. Among its main outcomes is the development of a Strategic Innovation Agenda that will identify the sector’s key technological priorities and facilitate their large-scale deployment.

This roadmap is being developed through a participatory process that brings together the perspectives of companies, technology centres and other stakeholders in the ecosystem, with the aim of ensuring that the innovation priorities address the real needs of the market and the sector’s key challenges.

The process is currently in its first phase, which focuses on defining the innovation lines. In this context, CLANER encourages its member organisations to contribute by reviewing and providing feedback on the draft version of the roadmap. The feedback received will help to enrich the technical content and guide future investment priorities.

In a second phase, scheduled for the coming months, these areas of innovation will be prioritised, thereby consolidating a shared vision at European level.

Participation in this process will not only enable organisations to influence the definition of the sector’s technological priorities, but also to position themselves ahead of the project’s forthcoming open calls, which will mobilise funding for the development of innovative solutions aligned with the roadmap.

Interested organisations can find further information in the attached documentation and participate in the process via the link provided.

We strongly encourage your organisation to take part in this collaborative process and help shape the future of floating wind innovation in Europe. All participants will receive a digital copy of the roadmap once it is finalised, and their contribution will be acknowledged in the final version. In September 2026 and April 2027, I3FLOAT will launch two open calls to support SMEs developing innovations aligned with the roadmap’s priorities. Each selected company will be eligible for grants of up to €60,000, contributing to a total of €3 million in funding.
