CLANER presents the Horizonte Sostenible Awards 2026 to Ariema, Geotermia Integral, EDP, Fundación Energía Sin Fronteras, Ignis and Lorte

 

At an event that brought together the renewable energy sector in Andalusia in Granada

The Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER) presented the Horizonte Sostenible Awards 2026 this afternoon at an event held in Granada. Organised by the association with the support of Texla Renovables, Iberdrola, Cuerva, Magtel, Ignis and Altano Energy, the awards recognise and give visibility to the efforts of companies, institutions and professionals leading the transition towards a cleaner and more efficient energy model in Andalusia.

The event, chaired by the acting Regional Minister for Sustainability and Environment of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Catalina García, was attended, among other authorities, by the Secretary-General for Energy of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Manuel Larrasa; the Secretary-General for Environment and Climate Change of the Regional Government of Andalusia, María López Sanchis; the Councillor for Mobility, Citizen Protection, Urban Agenda, Sustainability and Next Generation Funds, Ana Isabel Agudo; as well as the other members of the jury, made up of representatives from institutions, organisations and companies in the sector.

Ariema Enerxía received the Luz de Andalucía Award, which recognises innovative projects with significant technological advances in the generation, storage or distribution of clean energy, for its electrolyser manufacturing project, highlighted for its combination of technical quality, maturity and contribution to decarbonisation. This same award, granted ex aequo, was also presented to Geotermia Integral for the geothermal installation developed at an olive oil mill in Lora del Río, Seville, valued for its direct impact and contribution to Andalusia’s energy mix.

EDP received the Energía para Todos Award, aimed at initiatives that improve access to energy and promote sustainability education and community participation, for its “Green Education” project, which fosters social transformation through training and equal opportunities. This recognition, also awarded jointly, was also presented to Fundación Energías Sin Fronteras for the “Don Bosco Solar” project, focused on combating energy poverty and promoting social integration by encouraging the use of renewable energies and energy efficiency measures.

Endesa also received a Special Mention for the “Conexión a Tierra” project, in recognition of its outreach and public awareness work on the benefits that renewable energy projects bring to local areas.

Ignis received the Verde Andaluz Award, which recognises companies with a significant commitment to environmental sustainability, biodiversity protection and corporate social responsibility, for the “Caparacena 400” project, praised for its originality and the efforts made to integrate the facilities into the natural and territorial environment.

In this same category, the Autoridad Portuaria de la Bahía de Cádiz received a Special Mention for the “On-shore Power Supply” project, for its innovative nature and its contribution to reducing polluting emissions and eliminating noise.

Finally, Lorte, owned by the Loring family, received the CLANER Impulso Energético Special Distinction, which recognises individuals or legal entities that have played a key role in the development of renewable energy in Andalusia, in view of their track record and involvement in promoting the Andalusian renewable energy sector.

The jury responsible for evaluating the submitted applications, chaired by Catalina García, was made up of the Honorary President of INERCO, Vicente Cortés; the Deputy Mayor for Human Resources, Organisation, Digitalisation, Smart City and Innovation of Granada City Council, Vito Epíscopo; the President of the Spanish Association for Battery Energy Storage (AEPIBAL), Luis Marquina; the Head of the Energy and Environment Area at INTA, Fernando Isorna; the REDEIA delegate in Andalusia, Jorge Juan Jiménez; the Secretary-General for Energy of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Manuel Larrasa; the Secretary-General for Environment and Climate Change of the Regional Government of Andalusia, María López; the Director-General of Texla, Miguel Montero; the President of the Spanish Wind Energy Association, Rocío Sicre; and the President of CLANER, Alfonso Vargas. Gemma García-Pelayo, Secretary-General of CLANER, acted as secretary.

The president of CLANER, Alfonso Vargas, congratulated the award winners in this second edition of the Horizonte Sostenible Awards and also thanked participants for the high level of participation recorded, with the number of applications almost doubling that of the first edition.

Vargas highlighted “the outstanding quality of the projects submitted, as well as the diversity of solutions and initiatives presented, with a positive social and economic impact on the region. They reflect the commitment, innovation capacity and excellence of the Andalusian sector, making a significant contribution to the energy and industrial development of Andalusia and, by extension, Spain.”

The Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER), with more than 20 years of experience, is a group of companies, official bodies, technology and research centers, universities, and public foundations, among other agents.

Its main objectives include representing and defending the Andalusian renewable energy and energy efficiency sector, as well as promoting and encouraging research, technological development, and innovation in products, processes, and services associated with this field through collaboration and cooperation among the members of the cluster in order to strengthen the competitiveness of Andalusian companies in the clean energy sector.
