24 Feb CLANER proposes in the Andalusian Parliament new measures to speed up the administrative process for renewable energy projects.
24 February 2023.- The Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER) is currently holding meetings with the various Andalusian parliamentary groups with the aim of advancing new measures to administratively streamline renewable energy projects underway in the region.
Thus, the president of CLANER, Alfonso Vargas, accompanied by the association’s general secretary, Gemma Garcia-Pelayo, recently met with the president of the Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy Commission in the Andalusian Parliament, Manuel Guzmán, and with the popular spokesperson in the Industrial Policy and Energy Commission, Julia Ibáñez, who analysed the convenience of improving the administrative processing procedures for clean energy initiatives.
In this regard, CLANER has submitted a document with specific proposals for more agile and simplified administrative procedures, in line with state and European Union policy on renewable energies.
The representative of the clean energy sector in Andalusia, Alfonso Vargas, took the opportunity to congratulate the Junta de Andalucía for having achieved the state milestone that all renewable energy projects processed in the Andalusian community have had, by 25 January 2023, the corresponding environmental declaration issued.
“This fact reflects the Junta de Andalucía’s firm commitment to renewables and its contribution to the energy transition, as well as demonstrating the existence of greater and better coordination between the different ministries involved in the administrative authorisation procedure, an essential aspect for the progress of the process”, stressed Alfonso Vargas.
Although CLANER has valued as positive the administrative streamlining measures approved by the Junta de Andalucía, at the same time it has pointed out aspects that could be improved, such as the relationship between renewables and the territory, indicating that “these projects are subject to a rigorous authorisation procedure and the existing social concern requires a joint reflection and greater information work on the local benefits of renewable projects and their ability to coexist with traditional uses of rural land”.
