The awards will be presented on June 17 at an event that will bring together the renewable energy sector in Andalusia, held in Seville.

May 23, 2025 – The Asociación de Energías Renovables de Andalucía (CLANER) has announced the winners of the “Premios Horizonte Sostenible 2025”, organized by the Andalusian clean energy representation and supported by Texla Renovables, Magtel, Iberdrola, and Ignis. These awards aim to recognize and highlight the efforts of companies, institutions, and professionals leading the transition to a cleaner and more efficient energy model in Andalusia.

The jury responsible for evaluating the submitted entries, chaired by the Consejera de Sostenibilidad y Medio Ambiente de la Junta de Andalucía, Catalina García, included Vicente Cortés, Honorary President of INERCO; Juan Carlos Durán, Dean of the Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Industriales de Andalucía Occidental; Miguel Ferrer, President of the Fundación Migres; Fernando Isorna, Head of the Energy and Environment Department at INTA; Jorge Juan Jiménez, Delegate of REDEIA in Andalusia; Manuel Larrasa, Secretario General de Energía de la Junta de Andalucía; María López, Secretaria General de Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático de la Junta de Andalucía; Miguel Montero, General Director of Texla; Rocío Sicre, President of the Asociación Empresarial Eólica; and Alfonso Vargas, President of CLANER.

The “Luz de Andalucía” Award, which recognizes innovative projects with significant technological advancements in the generation, storage, or distribution of clean energy, was awarded to the project “Planta Piloto H2 24/7” by Seville-based engineering company RPow, which designed an innovative green hydrogen production facility with integrated storage at the Puerto de Sevilla, optimizing the production process.

The “Energía para Todos” Award, aimed at initiatives that have significantly improved energy access while promoting sustainability education and community engagement, went to Endesa for its project “Queso Solar”—an initiative that integrates solar plants into the landscape, supporting socioeconomic development through grazing and cheese production. In this category, the jury gave a special mention to the “Descubre la Energía” project by the Fundación Descubre, for its outreach and awareness work on science in general and clean energy in particular.

The “Verde Andaluz” Award, recognizing companies with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, circular economy, and ecosystem conservation, was awarded ex aequo to the “Proyecto de Restauración de Hábitats de la Campiña de Cádiz”, submitted by BRUC, and to the project “Alya y Alamak: impulsando el cambio hacia un futuro más verde desde Cádiz” by BNZ. In both cases, the jury valued the considerable efforts of the promoters to balance energy production with biodiversity, acting throughout all stages of the construction and operation of the plants.

The special CLANER distinction “Impulso Energético”, which honors individuals or entities playing a key role in promoting renewable energy in Andalusia, was unanimously awarded by the association’s Board of Directors to the Mayor of Carmona (Seville) and Senator, Juan Ávila, in recognition of “his determined and public support for the development of renewable energies and the energy transition, for which his municipality serves as a model for Andalusia.”

The awards ceremony will take place on June 17 at 7:30 p.m., at the Palacio del Marqués de la Motilla in Seville, coinciding with the annual CLANER assembly, which will gather institutions, companies, and key stakeholders in clean energy in the Andalusian region.

Alfonso Vargas, President of CLANER, congratulated the winners of this first edition of the “Premios Horizonte Sostenible” and expressed his gratitude to all jury members “and to the many highly commendable companies, institutions, and professionals who submitted highly interesting projects and who dedicate their daily efforts to clean energy in Andalusia, which undoubtedly benefits all Andalusians in general.”
