CLANER promotes landscape and social integration solutions for renewables in an international project in the Mediterranean area

19 September 2023 – The Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER) has presented the final results of its participation in the international European-funded project “Pearls”, with which it is making progress in improving landscape planning and the environmental and socio-economic impact of renewable energy installations in southern European countries and Israel.

At the plenary forum of this project, held recently in Siracusa (Italy), CLANER was able to share the results of its work area on social behaviour towards renewable energies focused on identifying the key agents in each territory to transmit the relevance of the implementation of renewable energies, in accordance with the landscape of each area, while promoting their development as a pillar of the energy transition together with a study of good practices.

In addition to CLANER, the project has involved the participation of seven universities (Seville, Huelva, Pablo de Olavide, Trento, Thessaloniki and Ben-Gurion) and nine organisations from the institutional, business and civil society spheres in southern European countries. The event was organised by the University of Seville in collaboration with Ethic 4 Growth.

The Andalusian renewables association has shown that the public is a key player in spatial planning, social innovation and the integration of renewable energies into the landscape and territory, which is why it is necessary to reinforce the population’s commitment to safe, clean and efficient energy.
