I3FLOAT will launch two Open Calls, granting up to €60,000 per SME and mobilising a total of €3,000,000 in cascade funding. Up to 50 SMEs will be supported. Open Calls are based on challenges identified in the Floating Wind Innovation Roadmap, which combines specific challenges proposed by Challenge Owners or key stakeholders with an open stream for cross-sector technologies.
Overview of Open Calls
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted through the EU Survey. Calls will remain open for at least two months. A webinar will explain challenges, participation rules and the submission process. There will be specific events in the framework of the principal wind sector conferences and fairs where the Calls are going to be presented.
Eligibility & Funding
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be a European SME, as per the EU definition.
Be located in consortium S3 regions, other LDRs or outermost regions.
Develop a technology or service applicable to floating offshore wind.
Funding is provided in three instalments: 40% at contract signature, 30% mid-term, 30% upon final report approval.
Timeline & Selection Process
The two-step evaluation process includes:
- Eligibility check
- Technical and impact assessment by two evaluators (third if needed).
Selection criteria cover innovation excellence, market potential, cross-sector impact and implementation quality. In case of ties, Less Developed Regions (LDR) applications are prioritised.
